I’ve had a couple of pints of Guinness and while I find it a bit overrated, it is still an enjoyable beer.
(This goal was suggested to me by the Magic 8 ball widget.)
littlebluefae is going to PAX in Seattle, soon.
While not particularly yummy for me, I enjoy a good piece of stew meat or a roast soaked in it all day in the crock pot. If you’re going to try this and find you don’t like it, I would recommend trying it in different types of food.
Like Guinness Brownies, for instance. You laugh now… :)
the shamrock (not a clover) should not be put on top of a pint of Guinness as this is an English/American thing, and is punishable by means of a fork in the eye of the offender in Eiré.
It’s fine out of cans and bottles, although the original is better than the draught. The only Guinness that is wrong is Guinness extra cold
Make an effort to stop into the brewery when you’re there. There’s nothing like Guinness straight from the tap. You eyes will roll to the back of your head and all I could say was WOWWWWWWW.
But there is a certain criteria that has to be met. The stuff in the cans and bottles sux, has to be a on-tap draught. With the clover pattern on top.
The Guinness you get in the U.S. tastes like it came out of a rain gutter. When I was in Ireland, someone in a pub convinced me to try it again and it’s wonderful.
So expand your goal. Instead of “drink Guinness”, make it “go to Ireland and drink Guinness”. Not only do you get better Guinness but you get to see Ireland.
It’s only worth doing because everything is worth doing atleast once..or so i live by but i don’t like it….nope…not for me
