How to buy a puppy

How I did it: I took time to determine exactly what breed I wanted and decided on a lab or lab mix. When I found lab mixes in the paper I went and picked him out and we've been happy ever since. The only thing I would say is that it is a huge commitment. If you travel often, you'll want a small dog. They are easier to take around and also can be taken on to planes. |

This goal is totally selfish, but I really want a puppy. I want a golden retriever, and I’ve been reading a book on them to get ready. My goal is to get as many books as possible about the breed and then get the dog in the Spring when I get my apartment. I want a girl, and the name that’s in the lead right now is Abigail or Abby for short.

I saved all my birthday and christmas money when I was 13 and bought a doxie for 375 dollars. we went to LA and bought some news papers at a gas station. We found an ad that said some breeders had some puppies to sell,we went to check it out and about two hours later headed home with holly. She’s 13 now :)
