I don’t like government, but I believe it is a necessary evil espcially when people live in large groups. Limited government is the way to go. Very limited government.
People doing this are also doing these things:

so many thanks to thee.
I didn’t read the page in english yet, but, according to the one in french, I guess, if I have to tag myself, I’m more a Green Anarchist than anything else in the world.
Since I know that Green and Black are my Colours, time has come to close this goal.
Libertarianism today. Now I do believe that free speech should be universal. So I can’t really complain.
But the fact that every time there is a new al-Quaeda document put out by the government, it is presented as a bad photocopy, with a terrible English translation, when it’s supposed to come right off of some stolen computer – probably shouldn’t say that, can’t have the state dpt encouraging computer theft, let’s say “uncovered evidence”. I wonder how they are sure they are not being a bit penny-pinching. Don’t they know you don’t have to print and photocopy a document on the computer to get it in to pdf? Think of the savings! I might just write and tell them. And also, if this is a Global War on Terror, why don’t they translate it into lots of languages?
Also, the Word one had a properties date of 2004. Tsk, that wouldn’t happen if I was in charge.
Brings me to two conclusions:
either they don’t have the dough to get a decent photocopy machine and a good translator and we should get some of those war-on-terror dollars redirected or start a charity or something.
or there is an incompetence factor leading to all those problems we have with faulty intelligence and we should all try and get jobs in the Bush administration.
edit: went to put the link and see they have now pdf’d the english one since this morning. www.dni.gov; Oh, and created the National Clandestine Services too…gosh.
this certainly gets me wondering about this goal.
Blair has lost the plot entirely on this one. Justifying the antiterrorist act with “But if you are an elderly person, perhaps scared of living in your own home at night, that is a pretty rough situation to be in and I want to give them protection.” even better “I don’t think that the traditional law can give them adequate protection”. Marvellous bit of doublethink. I wonder who he’s been spending too much time on the phone to.
I bet the grannies and grandads all feel so much safer knowing that the antiterrorist laws are keeping them from harm. Especially this 82 year old nazi refugee. Yeah, bet he’s delighted.
nobodysperfect had this one, and I couldn’t help but click on the “I’d like to do this too” button! Before I knew it, it had popped up as a goal. Hate to be a copycat, but that’s been niggling me too. I try and avoid believing in the existence of anything ending in ‘ism’ (did you hear GWB say ‘this is a war against an ism’ – i swear, i read the transcript of the speech in the Washington Times), but I have only good examples of ‘anarchism’ against which to reference some terrible examples of ‘libertarianism’, which seems a little back-to-front to me.
But all the same, I’d like to understand where the line is that means you get one label as opposed to the other. To some people ‘anarchy’ can mean having mismatching dinner plates. What do these words mean exactly?
Okay, I will do some research and try and find out…at least then I won’t have to worry about it anymore! phew!
thanks to L., the MarieStardust’s one, for asking me about this a couple of months ago.
He forced me, by keeping asking questions, to put words on myuthoughts, and I realized that even about this, I only feel, and don’t organize my thoughts. I feel, i don’t think .
For a start : these words, written by Bakounine and awfully translated from french by me, sum up lot of my point of view :
The other’s freedom expends mine ad infinitum
