timeless_dreams is rearranging her goals ready for the New Year
I hated this film so much! It’s not that it was a bad film…although I did’t think it was great either. It was watchable! I hated that it outlined an issue that causes so many problems in the world but will never ever ever be solved! It’s basiclly lots of different stories all linking back to racism which is formed for various viewpoints, events and reasons. It really shows how racism affects people and life and is definately true to the world! The thing is, racism, no matter how wrong it is, will never stop! There are always going to be the assholes in the world that will never let racism rest! At the same time, racism is a judgement, alongside homophobia, obesity, etc! It is difficult not to judge people. A simple judgement like somebody walking past you in the street and you think something bad about what they are doing/wearing is so easy to make. To a certain extent everybody does this but I think it’s how you deal with it rather than th thoughts. Everybody is entitiled to an opinion…but it’s not ok to express you opinion when it is illegal and/or hurts others. I am in no way racist but when I was travelling I remember feeling very scared and it was fairly unjustified. It is probably special circumstances but I was travelling alone and was staying in a hostel in Harlem which as you know has a reputation! Nothing happened to me though and nobody threatened me or even sugested violence so I had no reason to feel scared other than it was an unknown place and 99.9% of the people were black. That was my own judgement and issue that I build up in my head that made me scared! It’s such a shame when you see the damage that racism causes everyday, that it will never go away! I have sort of gone off track. So the film definately hit it’s purpose and got the point out there…but I didn’t like the film! The film in itself outlines that it is an issue that will never stop…which doesn’t give much hope really! I would prefer to live in hope than to go with the film! Certainly gives you some issues to think about after watching!
