Clear all the clutter out of my life

I am clearing the shit out and selling it on ebay!

i’m really making a huge effort to get rid of all the stuff i just don’t need. it’s amazing how many things you keep because you tell yourself “well, i might need that one day”. Everything from old boxes to the little screws you have to take off when you buy a new washing machine. You never, ever use them but in the back of your mind you have some kind of irrational, no doubt marketing induced, fear that if you do get rid of them then calamity is waiting in the future.
Anyway over the last 6 months I’ve filled bags and bags with stuff like this and now I’m down to the last few (hundred) things. Can someone explain to me why I can’t bring myself to throw away the old palm pilot that i’ve alays hated and only ever used for the first few weeks after i bought it until i realised it waas rubbish and paper and pen is light years better? Or why I have a drawer full of old mobile phones that i will never ever use again?
When I try to deal with this problem I realise how imprisoned by material culture I still am and long to be free.
