"Two by Hardy"

1. “How I Built Myself a House” This was the first published work by Thomas Hardy. Published in Chambers’s Journal in 1865.
2. “Interlopers at the Knap” 1884 Quite an enjoyable short story.

A Great Loves series consisting of 3 stories- Mere Interlude, An Imaginative Woman and The Withered Arm. The Withered Arm was surprisingly creepy, and I quite enjoyed it!

hmmm… this was a surprisingly easy read for a Hardy novel, but it lacked something.

I always seem to find a little bit of myself in his novels. The first Hardy novel I ever read was Tess of the Durbervilles in high school. I’ve loved Thomas Hardy ever since. So far I’ve read: Tess, The Return of the Native, Jude the Obscure, and the Mayor of Casterbridge.
