Chocolate Espresso Cake  — 1 year ago

From Nigel Slater’s Real Food. The Boy says it’s the best one I’ve ever made. Very moist, and keeps for ages if you can resist eating it

Worth doing!

I make cakes that are healthy and easy, and taste much better than they look, like: banana cake, zucchini cake, ‘simplicity’ chocolate cake etc.

I would like to learn how to make fancy looking cakes that involve complicated preparation. Perhaps i should retire from work early so I can do this ;) (I’m 26 :P)

Rose and cardamom cake was not quite what I expected – a bit heavier and a bit swweter than I though. Also, It hink my oven is a bit unreliable.

Next week: cookies – I’m thinking chocolate with white chocolate and macadamia chips
