shellkellI failed

I read a lot of books, just not enough to get to 100. To my credit, I started a PhD program this year, so my free time dramatically dwindled. Oh well! 2 years ago

Colleen_C_CYear-End Summary

I recorded 38 books that I’ve read on my own this year under this goal, & I’ve listed another 11 under my “book group” goal, which makes 49 this year (this total doesn’t include books that I had read previously & have re-read during the past year, nor does it include some of the reading that I had to do for work).

2009 Goal: 100
2009 Read: 49

For comparison:

2008 Goal: 100
2008 Read: 67

2007 Goal: 100
2007 Read: 101 2 years ago

While I think it’s realistic to acknowledge that I’m not going to read eight more books before midnight on the 31st, I’m also really please I got this close. Last year, I read 66 books and decided to stretch this year. If I was a more dedicated reader in the summer, I would have made it! 2 years ago

TurtleWhoNumber 72 & 73.

The Silence Of The Lambs- Thomas Harris

I changed my mind. This is the best one.

Hannibal- Thomas Harris

Bizarre. Excellent, but bizarre. Harris’ characters now seem to inhabit a world where everyone is a sexual deviant and everything is about sex.

neriende49. Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami

I like it least from all I’ve read by Murakami. I mean I like fucked up books but this one is too fucked up for my liking. On the other hand, I read once I finished it that it was meant to be partially autobiographical and if it was true the fact would change a lot. I don’t even know what it is about. Is it just about sex and love and the relationship between the two? 2 years ago

TurtleWhoNumber 71.

Red Dragon- Thomas Harris

The first book in the Hannibal Lecter saga is, in my opinion, the best. Most people will cite Silence Of The Lambs – but I think that has something to do with the movie’s popularity than the book itself. Red Dragon, awesome. 2 years ago
