I’ve abandoned this particular project; having heard I Salonisti’s rendition of this work as a piano and violin duet (it was originally for voice and piano), I really saw no particular point in completing my effort at a solo violin arrangement. Referring to Franz Peter Schubert’sStändchen , the 4th item of his Schwanengesang d857. Originally scored as a serenade for voice and piano accompaniment, I decided to write (perhaps “attempt to write” is better) an arrangement of it for solo violin. It presently exists as a fragment representing only slightly less than the first quarter of the work, which is as far as I got before running out of time to devote to a frivolous side project.
