I have been going to the gym for about three months now, but last month i got really sick and have been avoiding the gym. I really need to go again. I guess my goal for this will be to gain twenty pounds if possible

I wanna be a spartan! 11 months ago

I need to get buff so I can dress up as a spartan from 300 for halloween! Yeah, it’s a dumb reason, but I’m hoping it’ll motivate me. I’ll walk around carrying a huge shield and stuff. Then I’ll freeze my ass off because I’ll be walking around wearing nothing but a cape and underwear shivers

Working out is hard. I get distracted and I forget what set I’m on. I need to get focuesed. I guess I’ll recommit to this goal here in a little while.

Training 14 months ago

I’m finally working on this one! I got a personal trainer for my birthday. I am one year closer to 30 and my husband and friends are really supportive of me doing this. Once the training sessions are over, I will have the knowledge and (hopefully) confidence to tackle the gym and my own weight training on MY OWN! I’m already seeing some small improvements in my energy levels and muscle tone. The best part is sleeping better at night.

.. this is slow. I have visible gains in my triceps, but very small ones. I feel strength gains in my chest, back and biceps, but this has not reflected in my physique so far.

My eating habits are not to blame because I eat protein at every meal and drink a 50g Whey shake after each workout. The type of protein I eat is usually some form of chicken, which is a lean meat. It’s preperation is rarely of the baked variety, but come on now.. it’s been five frickin weeks. Oh well, I’ll keep at it.

Well.. 16 months ago

.. I’ve started. And I’m serious. I’m eating like a savannah lion and taking weekly maximums. I’ll need to determine what are the best methods for muscle gain, but so far I am simply following the small guide I bought with my weight set.

3 sets of 8 reps to start, then slowly move to 12 reps per set. Once twelve rep sets are acheived, increase resistance. Rest every other day. It’s a simple formula to say the least. It’s already been effective I believe.

Oh yeah, Whey protein shakes are the nastiest crap I’ve ever tasted! I drink them religiously after every workout, though.
