kepi stole the cookie from the coo-coo-kie jar
I work in the packaging industry and bag samples come across my desk in excess every day. While I originally threw them out I have now taken to retaining the samples and giving them to friends and family (once they are commercially released of course) to be used as freezer / lunch bags. I’ve got my mum and boyfriend into it so far and am working on my sisters.

Moved Offices!
I’ve since moved offices and didn’t have the time to really get people into recycling paper and they already do it here!
So I’m going to have to start back at the beginning ..
1. Switch to 100% Green Power: I did this last week – it’s actually power from a renewable energy source that’s pumped through the grid .. and not just carbon offsetting normal power (( which shouldn’t be snuffed at either .. because I don’t think that 100% clean energy is avail in all areas yet? ))

In the Office
I’ve managed to convince a number of people in my office that reusing the alternate side of a printed sheet in the printer is a good idea. Kick starting the process will be difficult because people here are afraid of change .. but it’s a challenge I’m willing to take on!
I’ve built up a reputation as Captain Planet in our office (( after a YEAR of nagging and taking home my own recycling, a recycling bin was put in the kitchen last week! Yay! )) so in an effort to not have 100 set of eyes rolling at me, I’m using “saving costs” as the selling point. I’ve convinced our GM that we should have an Espresso machine in the kitchen as a reward if the program works well. I’m sure that everyone will be motivated to be a little bit greener if a coffee machine is riding on it!
