clean my apartment

Well, I recently joined FLYLady, in yet another attempt to actually clean my apartment. The cheese factor is killing me, but I am digging the daily email reminders. I just have to stick to the routines and try to ignore the rampant advertising for more cleaning crap. No, I do NOT need a purple feather duster, thank you.

I’ve managed to donate a bunch of old clothing, including some sentimental items. This process is tediously slow, but I’m getting better, and my apartment is looking a bit cleaner. I still have such a long way to go, but I’m optimistic.

shortly after I got everything cleaned and organized, I moved to a new appartment.

Well I clean my bedroom/study – I mean REALLY cleaned it today.

I don’t have work this week (although I have a ton of tasks to accomplished) and I’m hoping to clean up one room a day so that by the end of the weekend the whole apartment will be in great shape.

still not perfect, but i let my sister move in with me, meaning it had to be done.

The downward spiral in my mental state has been matched by my apartment descending into squaller.

I want clean every room and get it all back in order and make a fresh start.

A common enough goal, but in my case it really needs to get done. I can’t think straight enough or relax enough to get other things done while my place is a mess; it’s a constant stressor.

& now that it’s spring, time for spring cleaning! :D I think I might just make use of that “challenge yourself” tool, and make up a consequence if I don’t get this done by today. Now, what sort of consequence should I have…

I’ve managed to keep the living room clean for over a week. Every time someone leaves something in there, I grab it almost immediately. It’s not very conducive to my sanity, but… at least the room is clean.

The bathroom isn’t that bad either.

As for the bedroom, kitchen/sitting area and hallway.

not so much.

I cleaned the living room the other day.
I kind of just went crazy and basically sanitized the room.

I did the same thing a few weeks ago to our kitchen/computer/sitting room.

by this i mean, garbage. with an eye for what is to be thrown away. then from there, organize. don’t be afraid to re-think the whole thing… ie, move this item into this room, or get a whole new piece of furniture for these things…. good luck!
