Did 5 days of stretches last week. Was forced to take a break over the weekend as I haven’t been well but ready to get back on it!
Also posting my 2013 Splits Master Challenge to my blog today (harlemloves.com) so there’s no secretly giving up on this goal… 4 months ago

I’m at day 3 of doing split stretches all because I watched house of flying daggers over the weekend. I figured being able to stand with one foot straight vertical in the air is a skill I needed. 4 months ago

Time to pick this up again! I was working on the straddle split a little, taking adequate time to stretch. I didn’t get very far, but hey, it’s a start! 10 months ago

All I can say is that it will take alot of deditcation to get into the splits but it is worth it in the long run (especially if you are like me and love to dance and perform). You will probably have to stretch at least once a day.
Good stretches that really helped me were:
-Lunges (stretch your legs and hip flexers)
-Forward stretch (it stretches your hamstrngs)
-straddle stretch (stretches your leg and hip muscles)
(you can type these stretches into google images to find out how to do them… however, do not be put off by the pictures of freakishly flexible people who post pictures of themselves on the internet)
To be able to do the splits does take time so don’t push yourself too hard as you can end up injuring your self. Also remember to do a bit of cardio before you stretch as it will help you stretch.
I think it is definetly worth completing the goal of being able to do the splits as it makes you more flexible overall which will help you in you old age. It is also really helpful if you are into gymnastics, dancing or acrobatics. (And of course, it is really fun to be able to show off to people about it ;) ) 23 months ago
