rate all my songs on iTunes

As my laptop got trashed a few months ago I’m not going to be making any progress on this for quite some time.

8,574 Unrated, compared to 11,299 Rated. That means 43.1% are still unrated.

I am going to give this goal up for several reasons, primarily being that I feel it is a waste of time.

I have put a lot of time into this goal, but since the ratings in iTunes don’t transfer to another computer (I have a Mac and was hoping that it would transfer to another Mac at least, but apparently not), it means that when I get a new computer, all the ratings will be lost.

I do like having a rated music library, as it helps with playlists, but I can’t really justify spending that much time on this goal, only to lose all my progress a few years down the line. Not to mention, I keep adding music just when I think I’m done with rating everything! :)

Not too many more than last time, but it did increase when I added a load of Eminem and Michael Jackson, so I’m not really helping my progress, unfortunately! :)

Today’s project at work: finish them off!

After getting through a load of Green Day and Johnny Cash amongst other artists, I now have 290 songs to go. My main hurdle from this point on is getting through Machine Head, Metallica and Megaherz, so it’s going to be mostly metal next time :)

This is less than 2 days of music, so hopefully it shouldn’t take much longer to finish these off :)

I’m thinking of only putting unrated songs on my iPod so I can rate songs when I’m out and about to speed up the process…

My “need ratings” list in iTunes just dropped to 1,000 songs!
