Looking back, I see that this goal was far from realistic.

I tried this for a few weeks, but decided it was just too rigid. What about really long books? Could I count them as two, or four, or…? The fact that I was even asking that kind of question about the goal told me it wasn’t a good one. I’m switching my book-related goal to just reading more.
I finished Harry Potter over the weekend, so that’s my second book.
Unfortunately my pace is going to slow (and I’m a slow reader as it is) because I’ve got a lot of overtime to do at work and can’t devote as much time to reading as I did this past weekend. I’m still going to try for two books this week though – I’ve already started Robert Aickman’s Cold Hand in Mine.
It’s been on my list for a while, but I’ve made no real serious effort to re-introduce reading into my life as of yet. I’m not necessarily trying to establish some book per week quota since that’s silly, but I’d like to be averaging about a two book per week speed and I like things on my list to have a measurable quality so simply putting “read more” doesn’t really cut it.
Anyway, I read Cat’s Cradle today by Kurt Vonnegut. And along with the rest of the planet, I’ll start the new Harry Potter tonight or tomorrow.
gypsiewriter thinks life is beautiful and appreciates the cheer-bombs as of late! :)
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. So very worth it! And I’m now finished two of the four books I got for Christmas.
I forgot how much I love reading Murakami. Already I’m hooked.
...Strangers by Taichi Yamada. Quite a creepy book – but not as scary as I hoped!
