My two roommates and I want to backback through central america, either on foot, or on a bike. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
How to backpack through Central America
How I did it: I found out group of people going there. I knew the Spanish good enough, I bought a ticket, said I wanna 3 months off at my job, left everything and I went there.Just like that.I started in Panama with a group of 10 people, finished in Mexico with a group of 4. I learnt how to dive, dove in Black Hole, Belize, Utila, Honduras, Cenotes in Mexico, I went through the jungle, I slept on the beach, in hammocks, I saw the Panama Canal, I did rafting, zip lines, canyoning, I tried to get on top of the Chirippo illegaly!(in 24 hours, I resigned just because I didn't want to fell of, the weather was really nasty), I've been walking at night in Colon, Panama. I've been to Nicaragua and Salvador, two great countries I wanted to be.I can help everybody to do it.
People doing this are also doing these things:

Hola! I am actually writing this entry from a cafe in Panama City. I am taking spanish lesons here for the rest of the week then i´m off to Bocas del Toro. It´s a blast!
I was born and raised in CentralAmerica before moving to canada… I never actually backpacked anywhere.. I went traveling, but never backpacking. Back in the days when I was a kid, there was no backpacking places around here… now, they are abundant.
Anyone wanna come with me? haha. I know the area very well.

So far, this is my only goal that is soon to be satisfied. Flight is booked in June to Panama and home two months later from Mexico. Should be an adventure…will re-post with further details if anyone cares.
