replace my social security card

Have you ever seen an elephant fly?
I experienced the impossible today;

There was no line at the Social Security office.

I was in and out of there within 5 minutes.
My replacement card should show up in a week or two.

Amusingly enough, I finally got my birth certificate to prove I was in fact born on November 19th, not the 9th, but can’t fix their screw up because it’ll take 4 weeks to resolve, which would conflict with the filing of my economic stimulus..

The wait was a little over 30 minutes – but the theater of my fellow citizens was entertaining as usual. I came prepared with the completed replacement form I had downloaded from the social security website, my driver’s license, official birth certificate, and a bank statement. It turns out, all I needed was the form and my driver’s license. After they called my number, I was out of there in two minutes. They will mail my new card in two weeks. And it didn’t cost anything – besides my time.

I finally had everything together and was ready to go. It wasn’t that bad. Now I am just waiting on its arrival via snail mail.

going to the office today just as soon as I get my big butt off the couch.
didn’t have my dad’s ssn so now I have to go tomorrow.

I filled out the app and got the address, now I just gotta go to the office. What an inconvenience! Oh well.

I start my new job on Mon and can’t find my card anywhere. We moved and it got lost in the process. I can’t believe this. Responsible me can’t find w2s or her ssn card but irresponsible husband has all paperwork sitting neatly where I filed it. Where could it have gone?
