Boring 2 years ago

Maybe it’s just that I’ve been living here my whole life so far and I’m Italian myself. But I don’t like Milan that much. Milan is without doubt the most livable city in Italy, but that doesn’t make it worth living here… Maybe if you are learning Italian, studying fashion or something like that.
Milan’s weather is horrible, people are unpolite, prices are always the highest in Italy.
Also “La Milano da Bere” (Milan by night) isn’t that good as it is believed to be abroad.
Sforzesco Castle and the Duomo are the only two things I love staying in Milan, cities like London, Tokyo or New York are far more stimulant from any point of view.

Do the Milan thing! 4 years ago

Its tough at first but well worth it, find the right places to look for jobs, live and go out and its a million times better than anywhere in england. Remember if youre going to live here you still have to do the work thing and actually ‘live’ its not always a holiday. But when it comes to time enjoying yourself and you love cities with a bit of style, there is no better place! Its difficult moving to a different country, especially, if like me you dont speak the language. But think of scorching summer, Tuscany Venice and France only 2 or 3 hours away and snowboarding/skiing in the winter only 2 hours away in st Moritz! Beats Brighton Pier and Tamworth snow dome hahaha

Just do it

Life In The Italian "Concrete Jungle" 4 years ago

Just as with any of the most bustling metroplis thoughout the world (New York, Paris, London, etc.), Milan is a fast-paced, multi-dimensional urban jungle where the people are well-heeled, brutally cool, and very much separated by class and social position; as is typical with any world-class capital, though, there also appears to be an ufortunate underbelly of crime associated with illegal African immigrants, drugs, prostitution, and petty crimes (like pickpocketing) most common among the roaming gypsies from eastern Europe. My advice is, don’t go unless you have a support system of native friends or fellow expatriates in place to help you intregrate with ease, otherwise you will be disappointed in the lack of “romanza” usually associated with most other Italian cities and will find it a cold and lonely place to be, indeed…

That being said, if you have friends that will help you navigate the Milanese way of life and have a passion for fast-paced cities (warts and all), this will indeed be the place for you!
