Three short stories, all very different, showing what a versatile writer she was. For all LPW fans, the last story, showing Peter, Harriet and three small boys living happily ever after, is a delight.

Another collection of short stories, packed full this time with the wonderful Lord Peter, and full of imagination. The best thing about this collection has to be the titles of the stories – DLS must have had such fun coming up with them.
My favourite: The Piscatorial Farce of the Stolen Stomach!
and it’s the worst DLS I’ve read. I think she was taking the mickey and making it stupidly complicated to parody detective novels – a dangerous game to play with your devoted fans.
Still, it was worth getting to the end, when it did actually do the job it was supposed to do and reduce my stress levels. before that I was so busy getting frustrated with six different suspects I couldn’t tell apart, who’d boarded trains at 12.6 or 11.4 or 8.1 or whenever it probably raised my stress levels. Aargh!
Let’s hope the next one’s better.
Actually, five red herrings is next, as that’s the one they had in Waterstones. After that, I’ve only got Lord Peter views the body and Striding Folly.
What on earth will I do after that?
