CalafalasII kinda up.
*Just curious in fact, not a necessity but I’d like to read some things about it.
I’m Originally from Philippines, I moved to Barcelona at the age of 11.
Living in Barcelona made me study and learn Catalan. Its really worth to learn it to be able to integrate with the culture.
I prefer Catalan than spanish XD the mix of french and spanish is sooo elegant.
adeu!
Family connections and a whole lot of love. I’ve been going to Catalunya since I can remember. This is a long term ambition though as I want to speak Spanish first. But my reasonings for both are the same. My little cousins ask me why I can’t speak Catalan (in English). They also speak Castillian. Inspiring as they’re all 5 or below!
For only 6 euros, I got a 6 book set of books written in Catalan for teens. It’s a set of “How does this work?,” “When did this happen?,” “Who did this?” type books. Perfect for when I actually really start learning Catalan
I’ve got a Catalan background but have somehow managed to be the only one in my family to avoid speaking it all these years. I hear when i was 3 i was fluent…for a 3 year old. Where did it all go? Anyway, I would really like to reconnect with this part of my life—not to mention my mom would be absolutely thrilled. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Even though Catalan is only spoken in very few parts of the world, mostly Catalunya, it’s deffinately worth speaking, it’s a beautiful language, my favourite :)
If you want to learn Catalan, go for it!
PS: If you need help on this, I’m more than willing to give you a hand ;)
Well, I started working through my Catalan book. Made it through the first two chapters today and taught myself the conjugations for regular verbs in the present tense. Not too bad. I think I’ll move on to the past tenses tomorrow.
