I made gingerbread muffins for my neighbors and I took them on over!
They seemed pretty happy about it!
It made me feel good!

I also made a gingerbread cake with a gingerbread house mold!
It turned out really cute & tasted really good too!

And my gingerbread man made out of brownie mix!

Ta-Da!
Yay for baking!

Going to Yucatan definitely qualifies as both new and fulfilling. We went to see the pyramids at Chichen Itza, the ruins at Tulum, and the snorkeling off the reef at Akumal. And all this from the convenient base of an all-inclusive hotel on the beach. What a wonderful way to end 2008! On to 2009!

Jessica wasn’t able to return to work because of her injured ankle until the week of Christmas. She now has thousands of $$ in emergency room bills because her health insurance hadn’t kicked in yet and she couldn’t pay for a dr. visit and no dr. would see her without payment in full at time of services.
Rachel’s car was stolen a week before Christmas and was finally recovered yesterday in Moberly, Misouri after police checked the license plate after the person driving it ran a stop light and sped away with police giving chase. The person abandoned the car and took off on foot. The police didn’t catch him but recovered the car and did dust it for fingerprints before releasing it. Oddly enough, after being gone for more then 3 weeks and being found an hour away from home it showed no signs of damage and nothing was missing. It was really dirty, however, and had about 2000 miles driven on it.
My car was the victim of a hit and run the evening after Christmas leaving a dent in the bumper and a chipped taillight cover.
My grandson’s bicycle was also stolen around Christmas.

December experience 10 months ago

A moment of realisation which has lasted …..that I am not inferior nor superior to anyone. It’s so liberating.

Also November - 10 months ago

I attended church all by myself!

And I had a really nice time too!
Proving to me that I can go to new places by myself!

Stepping out of my comfort zone, even if just a little!
Makes me proud of ME!

There are certain things I don’t mind doing by myself, like shopping.
Other things not so much.

I haven’t been to a movie by myself before maybe that’s next!

December: Gave myself a break 10 months ago

It may seem like a strange thing to count as a “new and fulfilling experience” but my biggest problem has always been that I’m willing to forgive others’ their human foibles while I hold myself to impossibly high standards.

This December I listened to what I needed and gave it to myself without hesitation – slept when I was tired, exercised when I felt thick and slow, vegetated when I was so low energy blinking felt like running a marathon – while still differentiating between needs and laziness.

I count this as new and fulfilling!

November - 10 months ago

In November I sang Karaoke at family/friend house!

I don’t know all of these people really well.
So I did have to step out of my comfort zone to sing!

But I really wanted to sing!
Needless to say, after asking if I wanted to sing which I did!
No coaxing necessary.

I sang for hours!
I sang a ton of songs I knew, and even some I didn’t know very well at all!
Everything from Britney Spears to Avril Lavigne, & even sang Mr. Brightside by The Killers!

It was so much fun!
More fun than I have had in a long time!
I almost lost my voice.

And it was worth it!

December ! 10 months ago

I moved out of home, brought my first car, got my restricted license, and started life-after-school. December was a time of change, and I was able to accept it rather than shy away from it. I’m excited about where things are headed in my life. :)

December also marks the date where I have followed my New Years Resoloutions all year. For the first time I stuck to my resoloutions until the very end, and i’m looking forward to doing the same this year.

Welcome, 2009!
