Flies on the Windscreen  — 5 days ago

Torrential rains have turned the Factitious Girl into primordial ooze. When the sun comes out and dries her off, I will see the progress (or subsequent demise).

Abandon.  — 3 weeks ago

Abort, re-entry; there is no shame. The finished work should be rich and symbolic, elegant and spare, instead of the piece of gaunt illustration it is becoming. The main part of the painting remains successful and works in a completely simple way. The idea of using a series of emptying boxes as metaphor (for what?) looks shallow and dare I say it- Sex & the City.
I am saving the work from cliche. I will photograph the attempt and salute its effort.
Fresh attack tomorrow? I am in need of energy, dramatic and stilted as it may sound. I am stilted.

And regarding the other "unfinished" painting  — 4 weeks ago

I have some documentation.
The colours are somewhat unlike my Lowbrow palette, but they were appropriate for the project when it was begun.
Here’s the dusty portrait, waiting for nature to begin her descent…

Today is the  — 4 weeks ago

readiest day yet to approach the painting before it becomes An Issue, which would then roughly translate to Stumbling Block, or The Obligation to Self.
There are few real work obligations, and morale is high.
I put on a black Paul Frank skull & crossbones shirt to boost the energy level.
