Yes eight years is a very long time but understand, my focus was a lot different when I was 26 as opposed to 18. I learned that work (blue-collar, back-breaking, sun up to sun down, six days a week) is hard. And I didn’t want to do that for the rest of my life. So after being out of college (cause they kicked me out) for 8 years I went back with a whole different perspective. I got straight A’s in the 5 classes (15hrs) I took my first semester back. It wasn’t easy. But, it was much easier than the alternative.

abbyoop is relaxing
I’ve done it once, I know I can do it again.
This next term I have some pretty tough classes (AP english, Chem, US History..) But I know that if I actually manage my time this round, I could actually get all A’s. I’m smart enough, I’m just not dedicated enough I guess you’d say? I need motivation.

I made the honor roll!!!!!
It was one of the happiest days of my life. My whole family was there, cheering me on when I went to get my little honor trophy.
I was so happy!
1: Don’t fall behind in reading or class assignments. Keep up and do the assignments on time.
2: Don’t take too many hard classes at once. One or two tough classes, max., per semester. If you’re on a quarter system, you have less time, so try just one tough class per quarter.
3: Choose the most interesting professors, not the easiest ones. These are the teachers who will keep your interest, and who you’ll want to be accountable to / want to please with a good grade.
4: Take classes you enjoy whenever possible, but which also “go somewhere” / build up to a goal.
5: Don’t take on too many extra-curricular activities, including jobs. The more extra-curricular activities you do, the fewer classes you can complete successfully.
6: If you need a break, try taking a walk, or make soem tea – something relaxing but not counter-productive. Avoid things like smoking (pot or cigarettes), drinking, or distractions like TV when you’re tryign to focus.
It depends on what you are giving up to achieve it and what value that has to you. I got all A’s last semester but I had to give up a lot of time with my friends and ended up depressed and moody. So I don’t think it was worth it for me. Others may think differently. Yes I am proud of it but I am not proud of the person that it made me become. I would rather be able to live with myself.

I’m having trouble with this… I had only one semester to go and was failing my accounting class so I dropped it… now I will finish in the summer but will have to wait for next year to participate in graduation, even though I finished the year before…....it bums me out, I really wanted to be through with it all next year. I’m finishing, but not like I wanted to.
Des is slowly regaining her sanity (unfortunately?)
After a (very) rocky start in college, I finally managed to have two semesters with all A’s. I was glad that I did, just to prove to myself that I could do it. I even kept the report cards in my calendar/organizer for a few years afterward, I was so proud of myself. :)
