I purchased Regina Spector’s latest cd “Far” and I love it. I’m surprised that she’s not played on the radio very much.

I recently received Coldplay’s Viva la Vida as a gift. I like it very much and have been listening to it on my way to work. I give it 4 stars.

I need to stop and listen to music more. I forget to.. or play it in the backgroud while I’m doing something else. I stretched out on my floor the other day and just listened to my music.. it was amazing how inspired I felt afterwards. MUST DO MORE OFTEN!

I got the CD “Raising Sand” and I love it. I’m going to have to get more Allison Krauss music.

Well, since I got my usb turntable I can listen to all of my old lps again. I haven’t listened to some of them in over 10 years and there are some I’m not sure if I want to hear them again.

Mark Erelli has a cover of Bill Morrissey’s “Birches” on his web site that can be downloaded or just played. It’s a great song!

I got the new Beatles cd “Love” for Christmas. I listened to it yesterday and I like it. It’s a different mix on many of their songs. A few of the mixes I don’t especially care for but all in all it’s a good CD.
Lauren W. busy mama!
I love having an iPod. I listen to music a LOT more. I’m going to back up my files to CD so I can listen to them at home as well. Yay music!! I’m so happy to be listening to new bands and old favorites again.

I’ve been wearing that shit out. (in a good way:o)
I used to eat/sleep/breathe music.
Who knows why.
Coincidence?

The things I found this goal required:
1) an imperceptible change in me – a reversing of “loss of self” that I had for a long time, one that fatigued me from even bothering with music because keeping up is so much trouble and so annoying, too
2) learning how to power-use iTunes
3) finally getting high-speed wireless at home so I can listen to Last.fm
4) having a few musician friends, which keeps me from being wimpy about music, and also cautions against being a weenie!
5) having the shame to not be a groupie or allow myself to continue saying “I want to play music” without taking steps to do something about it. And listening is the first step to doing.
6) Living in a city where the music scene kicks ass, which instigates a near-future goal of seeing at least 2 live shows per month. Back in the college-station-music-directorship day, it was more like 2 a week. But I was a tragically hip (not the band, the character trait) music weenie and groupie then, and now I am not!
I would also like to add that Salon.com has a good music blog, Audiophile, but I’ve been pseudo-paying-attention to it for a long time, only getting a month’s songs in one swoop – so it’s not integral to my actually listening more often. It IS, however, a good source of discovery.
