I made pesticide-free herbal flea repellent sachets for areas where my dogs like to sleep.

This month, I’m going to visit the Farmer’s Market at least once a week instead of getting my produce from the grocery store.

I’m going to focus on purchasing only used/second-hand items as much as possible. I guess I already do this as a method of saving money, but I should make more of an effort to find that book/DVD second-hand rather than purchasing a brand-new copy.
I’m really running out of ideas, as you can tell. ...

Chrissy kind of messed up my ‘all-natural cleaning products’ experiment, so I did that this month.

- Re-use objects to finish planting my garden and building my vegetable beds, instead of buying items from the store.
- Replace most (all?) of my cleaning products with baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, etc.; I’ll do a trial run on it this month but I’m worried about how I’m going to clean things such as the chicken coop without bleach. It’s super gross.

I’ve accumulated a large pile of clothing and stuff that needs to be taken to Goodwill or somesuch. My goal this month is to take care of that.
Maybe it is a new habit, though: I’ve actually thrown out that bag of old clothes before in fits of frantic “my lease ends in 1 week” moving efforts… which is really just inexcusably lazy, so enough of that!

It’s January. I bought my seeds, I set out my rain barrels and I have collected a large pile of compost & chicken poo: my goal this month is to plant my vegetable garden!
The only problem is: how am I going to keep the chickens out of it for a few weeks?

I’m going to fine-tune my electricity usage this month. I’m going to turn the heat down and break my bad habit of leaving random lights on when I’m not actually using them.

Dammit, I’m doing two things this month because “pack bento lunches” has been on my 43things for way too long and it falls into this category. I’m going to find something to use as a lunchbox and start that habit this month too. This will cut down on the amount of trash I create and it means I’ll be carrying a reusable container to bring my leftovers/takeout dinners home in, since I’ve been feeling guilty about the amount of styrofoam I consume by ordering take-out.
