Hi.. thanks for the entry stephen, it is danger if the goal is self-centered.
i want to explain that to become a spiritual healing (in my own definition) doesn’t necessary have to learn any special skills (reiki, etc).
it can be just praying others, saying something nice, supporting others, be kind, it is all part of becoming a spiritual healer, right ?
cause i see in my own experience, there’re many sadness, hatred, fear, loneliness in this life, in everyone’s life.
may be i use the term ‘spiritual healer’ to make it heard special, but actually it’s just normal things we ignore.
Thou i also interest in metaphysic but for present i don’t have the skills =)
omidele is rediscovering this site.
incorporating spirit into my work with touch happens fairly naturally, but i’m hoping that by studying reiki and other energy healing techniques, this will eventually become a huge part of my bodywork practice.
The goal of being a spiritual healer is a noble goal, but my own experience is that it is a side effect of developing one’s own self spiritually. It would be normal and natural to think that being a spiritual healer would be welcomed….actually it is met with a great deal of scepticism and sometimes outright hostility. It is a wonderful gift to have, but if it becomes an “ego” enhancer then the gift is lost. It is an odd thing, in that one can be open to it….but whether it ever comes to you is more a factor of grace and spiritual practice then will power.
One of the odd things is that sometimes people are not helped by imposing a healing on them. Sometimes what illness is telling them is that they need to change their lifestyle or their attitude. If a healer intervenes sometimes the learning that needs to take place does not happen and the person just gets sick again.
It is good to question your motives for wanting to be a spiritual healer. Is it to help people…or is there some secret wish to be special.
The best approach is to focus on spiritual practices, meditation, prayer, silence, kindness…and let the grace come in the way and form that will be. If you are meant to be a spiritual healer then it will come of it’s own accord.
In ancient times people would go to saints and sages for healing. Be a saint or sage first….then let grace happen.
Stephen
