I’m 16, live in california, and for as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to live in New England. When I was little, my grandma used to have a small cabin on a lake in Vermont where we would visit her from time to time. In Autumn I fell in love with the amazing colors of the trees (you know in California leaves don’t really change color or fall), in Winter I fell in love with the rolling hills covered in snow, in spring and summer I fell in love with the beautiful countryside. I always cried my eyes out when we had to leave. No matter what I end up doing in life I know I want to do it in New England.

It’s been awhile since this forum has received a post. Is it still alive? If so, I’d much enjoy receiving suggestions from members here.
I live in northeast Iowa but intend to explore New Hampshire, hoping to find a community in which to live and operate a couple of small home businesses (they involve New England subjects).
I’m in my 50s, so communities geared toward young professionals will not attract me, although I exercise daily and enjoy getting out and about (that is, certain outdoor activities will be an attraction, such as hiking).
I’d much appreciate receiving suggestions about what New Hampshire communities to visit with an eye to my relocation.
Thanks much!
I’ve lived in New England – western Massachusetts, to be exact – all of my life, but I’ve still yet to truly experience the magic of it(my family’s not nearly something of a happy & dandy…I’m hoping to see more “New England-ish” things when I’m older and on my own.) And I haven’t been much out of the northeast, so I can’t say if it’s my favourite place without being biased and ignorant. But nevertheless, I honestly love it. For a fan of nature, rusticity, history, and culture, this is such a haven!! The fruit of the apple trees tracing our driveway blush deeper each day as the leaves trade their lush emerald for a handsome plethora of sun-kissed hues. And my gosh, autumn’s such a tease with the dewy sunrises and chilly afternoons that keep rolling in and out like the Cape Cod tide these days. I can’t wait ‘til the farms open their fields to visitors. Hay rides, pumpkin picking, apple cider, teeheehee! XD I’m 15 but I still love this stuff to death. And in the summer, there are a whole new array of things to do. It can be dreadfully humid sometimes, however. And if one’s looking for a more urban experience, they’re not that long of a drive from the rural & quainter suburban regions. There’s a great amount of diversity where you can live, as well: the mountains, valleys, by the coast, or somewhere in between two or three. The spring is rainy and blossoms just erupt everywhere like delicate volcanos, and winter is a chilling, thrilling cold with a strong, mint-in-your-mouth air. Of course, not everything’s just about the changing seasons, and nor is life perfect as if we were all that vision of writers who come to find solace and live on the seashore with little to cause worry them; we all have to go to school/work and return to everyday life, but if you’re at least hoping for a romantic place when the papers are filed and the pencils are put down, I’m sure you can find comfort among our open borders. (And we’re not all cold, suspicious, Puritan-breds either. Many people are quite friendly! =D ) My dad & I go for a lot of day trips around just the western part of our own state and some parts of others, and there’s plenty we haven’t seen yet; I can’t help but imagine what experiences and places lie in our other six neighbors. I’m sure we all have quite a bit of difference, but I wouldn’t doubt you’ll find more than something lovely in whichever one you choose.
I may or may not ever live there. Yes, I love New England, and will visit there again, but it’s not a specific goal anymore.
Aaron going to be apple picking.
And I love it. The mountains, the winding roads, the small towns, the winters, and the weather. I love it all.
I can’t say I wouldn’t like living else where, but it has to have low population density, and a variety of seasons, and terrain. So, that would limit all the choices.

I love New England. I love the change of weather. I love the beaches in the summer and sitting near the fireplace playing games with the kids in the winter. I can’t imagine living anywhere else :)
i’ve decided that this is my future in a nut shell, no matter what job i manage to settle in to, with whom if anyone. I want to live in new england… be a writer…. knit my own big comfy sweaters sit by the fire place and enjoy it, and enjoy…
I lived there on an off for ten years. I’ve been wanting to get back ever since.
I live in Connecticut and Rhode Island, but have spend time in every New England state. It’s beautiful here. Weather’s nuts, but it’s great.
