Chester and York 5 months ago

Chester and York were both really good! They’re very similar to each other, typical medieval building and cobbled streets and stuff!
Chester was my favourite, sooo pretty and small! We went on a ghost walk which I highly recommend, and we went to Chester zoo – amazing! – and the Blue Planet Aquarium. The Aquarium is meant to be the best in Britain or something but it wasn’t that special. Still fun! Aww I had an awesome time, it was nice and romantic and me and Chris did a spontaneous haunted-pub crawl after the ghost tour!
In York we basically spent the whole time in pubs with our friends who we were staying with, but it was a pretty place with an awwwweesome looking afternoon tea shop! We didn’t go in cos it was very expensive. But yeah, good times!

I want to take Chris away somewhere secretly!!! I want to go to Brighton but I don’t know if Chris would want to go there…. where is a cool place in England?? This is my problem, I don’t know any cool places!! Suggestions…....?

Going to York at the end of feb for a long weekend, and Chester in May for Chris’ birthday! =D Exciting. I have no money but I’ll have to just deal with that lol. Hm.

I can’t find any good websites to help me with this =( the official England tourism site is CRAP. I just added ‘a book about England and cool places in it’ to my xmas list =) Went to Cambridge 2 weekends ago for my sister’s boyfriend’s surprise party – I do actually know it quite well nowadays! I know my way around! I can get to the railway station, to Jess’s house, to Tescos, to Parker’s Piece, to Emmanuel College, to King’s College, to shopping, to Wetherspoons and to punting! All you need, really, lets be honest. LOL.

I really want a minibreak to Brighton or Chester, but might have to wait til the May bank holidays. Might make it to Chester over xmas though =D Hope so.

    New goal!! 16 months ago

I would have put Know Britain, but I feel like starting small. Which is a shame cos I went to Holyhead earlier in the year so I would have had a head start, but that’s in Wales.

With this goal I pretty much just mean: know where places actually are rather than just being like, ‘oh, that’s in the north’ (EVERYWHERE is north compared to where I live. Other than Cornwall and Devon.); visit places of interest; be able to talk about places in England when they come up in conversation, rather than listening to people tell me about places.

I went to Cornwall 2 weeks ago, that is a start! =) I’m moving to London in September, and you can get to anywhere in England from London! So hooray! And all my friends are moving to various places so I’ll have reason to visit!

    List time!

Places to visit, which I can do realistically and have reason to do so:
Cambridge – my sister lives there so I’m getting to know it pretty well! Plus it’s right near London so I can pop there whenever I want! =)
Brighton – went there a few times when I was little and loved it. Might whisk Chris away for a romantic break there hee hee <3 Not far from London =)
Chester – Chris’ parents live near Chester and we keep saying we should go, if not for the zoo then for the double-decker streets!!
Manchester – I have a few friends in Manchester, and Chris comes from there, so I’m sure we’ll have some nights out up there!!
Sheffield – Lisa is moving to Sheffield! Chris went to uni there and I LOVED it when I visited him – snowy in winter and just a lovely cosy (yet humungous) city =)

Other places I would like to go:
Hadrian’s wall – is that technically in England? Not too sure.

That’s about it. Seriously! I need to find out about my own country DRASTICALLY. I love being English! But obviously I am not a good Englishwoman. Hm!

YAY ENGLAND! Yay visits! Yay fun times!!!
