i dont want to get too excited before it happens but it looks like i might have 2 of these lined up! crazy. i never pictured it this way but theyre both tatt mags. and i realised thats all i want to write about – ive pitched other ideas for more generic fashion/lifestlye mags but i kind of had to struggle for those ideas and the replies i got were not all that interested. but writing about tatts is something im sooo interested in. i love learning more about them and i have 3 now! so im happy just to stick in this niche rather than struggling to think of articles on things i dont really care about. and cos its sort of a niche market – writers who also have tatts – i think its been easier for me to get a break.
even things i do like – like gigs and food – are not things i necessarily find easy to write on. theyre more just experiences that are personal, that i have no desire to describe in detail. im pretty stoked with how my efforts here have paid off. getting paid to do something id do anyway is the best feeling – or will be when it happens! 2 years ago

i have just had an article published (unpaid) on a blog, and been offered a spot in their next issue, also unpaid. i have also been invited to pitch for a commissioned article, which i submitted today. i love the internet!
if this fails i will try other online places, maybe the vine and lifelounge.
as for print, i want to write an article for frankie as they seem very open to submissions and i like their philosophy. Oyster and some film mags are other ideas. 2 years ago
