I feel like the luckiest girl alive. The outpouring of love and good birthday wishes from so many people has me just flabbergasted. Including of course, all you 43T peeps! The wishes, the cheerbombing – I feel so special. :) :) :)

I was honestly VERY surprised when I saw this goal…you are definitely defying your age beautifully – a real inspiration to those of us in our thirties and forties!

I also want to take this opportunity to draw attention to what an asset you are to the 43Things community. Your comments are always so upbeat and sincere, and several times your posts have spurred me on towards making progress – especially on those flower photos and recreating my Great Grandfather’s story.

I had the pleasure of meeting DoubleN last October at the Chicago 43Things Meet Up. Segsy was sitting between us so I didn’t get much of a chance to chat her up, but I did make sure I brought up her running and crunches, especially since I was just starting to run. Now it’s almost a year later and I’ve got my first marathon under my belt, and I wish I knew then what I know now because I would’ve bent her ear and asked all kinds of running questions. I truly am amazed at her, and hope that a decade from now I’ve learned from her motivation and lived up to her inspiration. Here are my wishes for her for the coming year:

May she find new routes to run, and as she runs them may her feet plant firmly and the weather cooperate. May she make more time for her mom, possibly by getting her involved in joint projects like volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. And may she find the funds and the time to travel somewhere that needs a passport, possibly so she can walk on the Great Wall of China. 4 years ago

I was only in my late 30s when my birthday candles melted together into a rather alarming conflagration. They were on a layer cake like this, but yours seem to be burning quite nicely!
