be in a mosh pit

but i’ve always wanted to. well i haven’t exactly been anywhere a mosh pit could’ve or would’ve been possible. haha.. i just wanna be in one.

Great fun though it can be a bit overwhelming at times. It almost feels like you have lost control because your just being push around and jostled wherever the crowd is going. It’s def. something everyone should do though.

It was a Blood Brothers Concert and I almost chickened out. It was an amazing rush when I finally just jumped in and began to run around shoving people. The only downside was a guy had cut in front of earlier that night kicked me in the back… guess I had it coming? But he was kinda bulky and almost 6 feet tall and I being only 4’ 11, 5’... on a good day nearly got snapped in half… STILL it was so worth it!! : D

Last time i went to go in one, and my friend pulled me out yelling at me.

it can definitely be a lot of fun but, it’s pretty dangerous too. At last years Warped tour I caught a elbow in the mouth not once but, twice! My upper and bottom lip were split open nicely. Blood started dripping down my mouth immediately. I had huge open cuts and can still run my tongue over what feels like scars created from teeth cutting into my skin. It made drinking beer difficult! I’ll take a mouth piece next time…haha…

Usually the best place to be. FUN!! I’ll never have seats again if I can help it. Only once was it too scary. Then you just get out.

Well, I guess it is a youthful right of passage in a way. I don’t think i know of many people who haven’t been in one, at least people in my generation that is.

This was totally involuntary. Moshing is stupid. It’s gross, painful, distracts from what you are actually there to do which is listen to the music, and is generally all around not fun. However, I am not going to stand in the back of the Granada and just stare as Less Than Jake rocks out like badass motherfuckers on stage, so at the show I pushed my way through the middle of the floor between songs and got to the edge of the area people were moshing in and stood next to my friend Eric. So we were doing our thing, rocking out, with the occassional having to push someone who fell over to us back into the pit, no big. But suddenly the pit just swells and consumes us. This was not part of the plan because I had forgotten to leave my glasses in the car and didn’t really feel like paying for a new pair. Also I am not exactly big, and being in a pit with a bunch of really tall guys, some huge, some just really fucking bony, and ALL really sweaty, is not very fun. I formed a sort of barrier with my arms out in front of me and spread my feet apart, managing to fend people off for the rest of the song, then somehow managed to shuffle to the right side of the stage next to the sub and chilled there for the rest of the concert, for the most part relatively safe from retarded moshers. I managed to escape without bruises as well, so I was pretty excited about that part.

All in all, moshing…retarded.
