So it usually doesn’t rain in Athens, but the one time I go to visit the Parthenon, it does. It was slippery and groggy, but it still was beautiful. The airline I flew lost my baggage, so I couldn’t take any pictures [my camera things were in the bags]. I want to go back when it’s sunny [and my camera is with me!]

I saw it in my favorite book as a kid (also the one that inspired me to become an architect) – “Square Buildings, Round Buildings, Buildings that Wiggle Like a Fish” – the building has fascinated me. I recently read an article aboout a girl who picked up a rock there to pose and was thrown in jail. I loved seeing the Parthenon when the Olympics were in Athens and they’d always pan the camera over it. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to visit it myself.
