It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating Pattie’s return from Iraq but it’s been almost two years now. Pattie had been very active on the site back then, but not so much anymore. Still I think of her often and really do need to find the time when she, Chuq and I can all go to a game together like we’ve talked about doing. Here are my wishes for her for the coming year:

May you find the motivation to work out regularly (at least three times a week) so that you make progress on losing those 25 pounds. May you find the time and funds to travel, whether it be to some of your 43Places, or just to another NHL arena. And may you encounter people and situations that enable you to do 43 random acts of kindness this year. 3 years ago

In honor of your birthday, PattieA, I have done a random act of kindness… A teenage girl stopped at our door (in the middle of the forest)> She was almost in tears because her moped had died as she was driving home. She was scared and disoriented. We let her borrow a cell phone to call home. Then I drove her home, leaving the moped in our driveway for her to come pick up later with her father. Ah, a strange birthday present for you, perhaps…
