Wish Sitio an Assumption Free Birthday September 5th

I’m way late.
But I hope you had a marvelous birthday. Hope it was assumption free. ;)

that everyone would be timely with their birthday wishes, right? Good! Because obviously I’m not.

I’m glad you had such a peaceful, guitar-filled birthday weekend. Here’s to many sweet riffs in your new year! Happy birthday!

It has been a very good birthday weekend, though not the one we had planned, it has been quite nice (for me anyway). Sanvea has been down with a cold, so instead of most of what we’d planned, we’ve hung at the house watching DVDs, napping, etc. She has supplied me with the opportunity to play nurse, which is more rewarding than nursing the hangover I probably otherwise would have had if she had not been sick. Obviously, since she’s sick, it hasn’t been as pleasurable for her.

Also, on Saturday, my brother took me out to breakfast and accompanied me to McCabe’s music where I treated myself to a new Classical Guitar. I found an incredible deal on an Esteve 1FR40… plays like a dream, or would if I could play better. But I’m really pleased with the purchase. I love McCabe’s; the people there are amazing and only helpful when you want them to be. Otherwise, they’ll let you sit in the back and play all their guitars all day in peace.

Needless to say, I’ve put in a lot of guitar hours this weekend too.

Thanks to everybody for the incredibly kind birthday wishes. I’m surprised Todd remembered and got anybody to join since I haven’t posted here in so long.

Sitio hasn’t been active here lately, but his presence is still felt as I wander through goals that he’s commented on. I know he says he’s just a guy, and that humble modesty is what is so appealing about his brilliance. When you have a conversation with him, he enlightens you and makes you want to be a better human. I’m glad that our paths have crossed and hope that they continue to intersect as we each make our way down the eightfold path. Here are my wishes for him for the coming year:

May he continue to set an example to those around him, especially by not accepting plastic bags. May he continue to hone his skills toward perfection while recognizing that perfection can never truly be attained. And may his love for his wife continue to blossom and thrive as they both share their authentic selves with each other.
