I’ve always wanted to speak Russian… Why havn’t I done it yet?
How I did it: I took a Russian language class in school, where we had two teachers: one of them was a native speaker from Russia. It helped me a lot when I was listening to her speaking. I also learned a lot from Russian movies with subtitles (I learned English by watching cartoons when I was a kid, for example :) and by listening to Russian music, reading magazines, books...
Lessons & tips:
-read Russian
-watch Russian films
-speak A LOT in Russian!
-write stories in Russian

Grovey Highly inefficient
English is the only language I currently know how to speak, but I have always felt that Russian is an exceptionally cool sounding language. Most importantly it would give me ultimate Bragging rights in any situation. :)

Who doesn’t want to sound angry no matter what they say?
Actually, I really want to go to Russia and I think it’s rude to go to a country and not know how to speak their language.
My boyfriend is from Baku, and a lot of my friends are from Russia and I’m sick of them talking without me understanding. I’ve already taken a semester of Russian, enough to understand a few words here and there, but not really enough to speak. I can read and write better than any of my Russian friends, which is kind of cool.

I know how to say hello, good bye, thank you, I love you and dog. I want to learn it so we can take a trip back to Russia to show my daughter her homeland.
I have always wanted to learn, although I understand that it’s difficult. I am anticipating it taking at least a year of study. I will update this when I begin!
