share old family photos

My grandpa’s friends in village.
Must be from 50’s.

This is my grandfather who died a year before I was born.
It’s sad that I never knew him.

I don’t know how old this is.
I find it kinda funny for some reason I dunno.
Maybe it’s the guy with glasses.

Mom and Dad, in 80’s.
The photo quality really sucks here, but I think they look kinda cute, in the original photo at least.

It must be early or middle 1950’s.
This is my uncle, don’t let the dressy thing he wears fool you, it must be the baby trend of the 1950’s :)

This is my father’s grandfather.

After the collapse of Ottoman Empire, in the beginning of 20th century, he came to Anatolia (to Eskişehir) from Constanta (which now belongs to Romania) with his old grandmother. Under quite tough conditions, he started a life, he was told to be very hard working and honest. He started his own business and became a landowner. After the foundation of Turkish Republic (1923) he choosed the family name that we now have, which meant “Well-read” in the old Ottoman language.

My uncle Pauli, my aunt Tiina, my mum and my sister Susanna. I would guess that the year is 1972.

This photo is so great for three reasons:
1) Pauli looks exactly like his daughter Mira
2) Tiina looks exactly like her youngest daughter Katariina
3) Susanna looks exactly like her youngest daughter Aliisa !

Susanna again. Mum has taken such awesome photos of her, when she was younger. (Nowadays she doesn’t really even like to be photographed. :P)

My sister Susanna. :) I think this photo is so pretty. I don’t really know how old she is here, I should have asked my mother.

Siblings. There’s my aunt Leena, my mother (with the spoon) and my uncle Markku.
I really like this photo. Like all of these really old family photos, it was taken by my grandfather.
