I am just about to publish my first book Strategies for Happiness (check it out at http://www.S4HThebook.com). I decided to start my own company (check it out at http://www.SassySunflowerBooks.com) to both promote my book but to help other people promote their own books.
I also started a blog (check it out at http://thenext25k.blogspot.com/) to chronicle my journey towards publishing and promoting my book.

Yes. Finally. I’ve launched the publishing company. Check it out: Writ Large Press
It’s been overwhelming in many ways, especially how there hasn’t been time to bask in the achievement because there’s so much work that needs to be done, setting up readings, getting it out to press and such.
But worth every single ounce of sweat and blood.

I have to produce 50 copies of a book this semester for a publishing class. I hope I can use this to launch something bigger.

My goal is to publish 2 to 4 writers per year. The writers will be from Los Angeles, because as a writer in LA myself, I don’t think this city and its creative community (other than film) gets enough credit.

I have an idea for a publishing company that is tied to one genre. I could do mags, but I’d really like to publish quality books of a certain interest. This is a tough thing to find GOOD info on. There is spotty stuff everywhere, but no one stop shop.
When you think about it, it makes since. Would a top publishing company want to publish a quality work on how to start a publishing company? Talk about breeding competition!

Again, completed this goal in 2006. After seeing all the horrible deals for first time authors, Edgey and I decided to start our own publishing company. We worked directly with the press, bought our own ISBN numbers, PO box and distributed our book by ourselves. It is an on going process and definitely the best choice we could have made. We are open to review submissions, so if you have a radical book you would like published, check out our site and send us an email:
