I have been unable to use chopsticks for as long as i can remember..
And i now live in asia and sometimes chopsticks are the only form of eating, so then i look like i am trying to stab the food and if its rice, wel, lets not go there… >_< hehe
I want to learn to use them so i can go out to dinner with my korean friends and my other asian friends without having to ask for a spoon, fork or baby chopsticks (fat, short, easy to handle chopsticks). And i want to go to korea when i am a little older so i want to learn A.S.A.P…
hehe

kmslat is always striving to be better...
really? it would be nice, but it doesn’t make me a better person for learning how to use them. so I’ll just pass this one up. thanks for playing.
yesterday. I ended up with a set of chop sticks that had a picture of how to use them on the wrapper. That’s what I needed, a visual aid.
Figured it out pretty well I think.
Mikhail Nikolayevich If Heaven made someone, earth can find some use for them
...than a fork for eating grains.
...he said otherwise I couldn’t go to Disneyland. :P I sort of resent that being dangled over my head, but oh well.
He made it more interesting by using Legos as things for me to pick up. (I was a huge Lego fan as a child.) It was interesting because it made me think about picking up the pieces (which were hard and boxy, as opposed to being soft, squishy, round, etc.)
Try doing it for 10 minutes a day with things other than food. Although I understand the concept of using them when you eat, I can imagine people associating frustration and anger of not being able to eat with chopsticks.
I’ve tried this about 20 times in my life and I just don’t get it. Usually I can do it if someone is sitting with me and is telling me how to hold them, but as soon as I leave the resturant the knowledge leaves my brain.
Tried again the other day and I did manage to pick up a couple things but then gave up. The stuff I picked up was a fluke I think.
I will figure this out one day…
i don’t really like oriental food…so i doubt i will ever need to use chopsticks in a restraunt. but….if i ever wanted to….i definately could.
at first its challenging but using chopsticks comes in handy, like, you dont feel stupid eating with a fork in an authentic chinese restaurant! lol
