About the only advice I can offer is this: Make sure your notes are comprehensive and organized. Make sure you’re going to be in a comfortable environment, free from distractions. (And yes, the internet does count as a distraction.) Some inspiring music/art always helped me. Sit down, write, and if you get stuck, pace around for a minute or two and think about it.
And then, when you’re done, pat yourself on the back and then start from the beginning for the first wave of revisions. ;)
