I am thousands of miles away from my friends, and the longer I am gone, the more I feel like we don’t even relate. I hardly know anyone here in Anchorage, so I guess I’m just going to have to make friends before worrying about keeping in contact with them.

want to keep in touch with old friends and new on a regular basis and actively network with people in the same business and network with people who I find have the same interests and hobbies this is to make sure I stay a part of the living world and should help me to meet more people who have things in common with me who I can share things with and have company doing the many htings that interest me with people who like these same things

Except for my relatives, almost all my friends (including me) seem to move every 6 months to a year. Between school and travels and work, it is so hard to keep up with people unless they are on facebook! So i’m going to attempt to re-collect everyone’s address for 2009 and write some letters!
For all you friends out there who have moved in the last year…please email me your new address! Or send a postcard :)

this is going to be very important this year. I’m commuting from home as this is my last semester of college. it’s a bit lonely. all my friends have either graduated, a few still live near school, and i haven’t spoken to anyone from home in the past four years basically. i feel like i really need to make an effort to hang out with people..or else it will be very lonely this semester. i hang out with my boyfriend and all the guys at his apartment like 3 times a week..but really i need some girl friends..or at least people who would talk intelligently rather than play video games all the time..(haha i love these guys that he is friends with but really..i have nothing in common with them)

Yep, Facebook

Absolutely helped me about that one too! I even found my friends, whom I haven’t seen in more than ten years…
The best was maybe finding my platonic love from 5th grade… I haven’t spoken to him since, but I also couldn’t help wondering how he’ll react after my message to him on Facebook. About to be good friends now… :)

Gina is trying to find her place in life
I have been talking with some friends from high school lately… and am keeping up better with current friends. Facebook helps… but having my own place really helps me to have the energy to give my friends!!

Chris Cooke finds 43Things thinks he's an extroverted, creative, self-improver.
Last year we started monthly potlucks to get our friends together. It kind of died out during the summer, but we’re starting up again this Saturday.

Monthly lunch
My new job location is near a couple other friends of mine, so we’re starting to get together for lunch once a month. These are friends, but not among my closest friends, so it will be good to build a better relationship with them.
