dragonfly35Lots happened today

but I have to complete this goal before I post any more to 43T! It’s in my reach, it’s in my reach, it’s in my reach! 3 years ago

dragonfly35The final countdown

All that remains to be done for the fall semester (my last semester of actual classes in this degree):
  1. Assignment 1 (short paper) Due Dec. 13
  2. Assignment 2 (script) Due Dec. 17
  3. Read other scripts and sign Due Dec. 20
  4. Assignment 3 (resource list) Due Dec. 19

Then I just have to focus on my thesis and my language requirement, and I will be able to receive my MA in International Education. Unbelievable. 3 years ago

dragonfly35Amazing! I am going to accomplish this goal.

Every time I do the impossible, I first wonder how I did it, and then I wonder why I put such limitations on what I can do. 3 years ago

dragonfly35The PENULTIMATE list

  6. Assignment 3 (resource list) Due Dec. 19

Go, go, go, go, go! 3 years ago

dragonfly35My dear friends

Some of you have so much going on right now, and I so want to keep up with your entries, but school is pulling all my time and attention and it will probably be that way for the next 2-3 weeks. I will almost certainly get quite out of the loop and probably am already. :( So I just wanted to give a shout out and say that my good wishes are with all of you! 3 years ago

dragonfly35No, seriously...

I had a good Thanksgiving but something had to give, and that thing was school! I have been given an ultimatum of sorts – all late assignments must be in by Dec. 7. I have one day today, and then I may just have to be “sick” this week if that’s what needs to happen to get it all done.

Here’s the list:
  • finish Module 5 readings; post at least one question
  • read and respond to at least one Module 5 assignment
  • do Journal #3
  • Evaluation Plan by Dec 1
  • Late RPQ
  • Comment on classmates’ papers
  • Late Module 4 synopsis
  • Late Module 4 assignment
  • RPQ2 due Dec 7 3 years ago

dragonfly35So as not to miss anything

Still to do this week:
  • finish and submit Module 1 paper
  • finish Module 5 readings; post at least one question
  • read and respond to at least one Module 5 assignment
  • do Journal #3
  • Evaluation Plan by Dec 1
  • Late RPQ
  • Comment on classmates’ papers
  • Late Module 4 assignment

And then would I be caught up? 3 years ago

dragonfly35Step One: BREATHE

I didn’t do any homework this past weekend, so here is what must be done by Thanksgiving weekend:

Module 1:
  • do module 1 assignment (DUE BY 11/25)
Module 4:
  • acronym assignment (LATE)
  • come up with project idea and email professor (LATE)
  • do Module 4 project (LATE)
  • do week 2 reading (LATE)
Module 5:
  • do Module 5 reading
  • journal #1
  • questions about readings
  • journal #2
  • journal #3
  • team assignment (DUE 11/23)
  • forum response (DUE 11/29)
  • evaluation plan (DUE 12/1)
RP:
  • write reflective paper (DUE TODAY)
  • comment on classmates’ papers

God help me.

EDIT: I just emailed my professor/ advisor and proposed an updated schedule for me with new deadlines for the late assignments. I hope she agrees to it. She’s very reasonable and understanding of my situation. For the next two weeks, we’re working with a new professor I don’t know personally, so I’d rather try to keep up with her assignments and then do the late stuff later in the month.

EDIT 2: Dates revised by professor! YAY!3 years ago

dragonfly35No sooner do I catch up

then I’m behind again. To give myself some credit, I’m moving, working overtime, and I went home sick today! Blah.

Just so I don’t lose track, here’s what’s on the list for this – moving weekend – or before.

  • late acronym assignment
  • come up with project idea and email professor
  • do project
  • write reflective paper
  • do week 2 reading
  • do module 1 assignment

with the last one possibly bleeding over into the following week, but I’m putting it here so I don’t lose track.

Guess I can’t afford to keep being sick this evening, now, can I? 3 years ago

dragonfly35Starting to feel

this goal is possible and I will get my MA! Woohoo! 3 years ago

dragonfly35Sweet!

All caught up, by some miracle. This week I have to:
  • Work on Module 4, whenever it’s open to me.
  • Work on the Module 1 project, due before Thanksgiving. 3 years ago

dragonfly35Deep breath

Here goes, better late than never.

  • Read “Backward Design”
  • Read about Learning Theory and the Adult Learner
  • Read the Theory into Practice Databasetoo much to read in detail right now, but read enough to know where to go when I start the assignments later!
  • Read about Abraham Maslow: Hierarchy of Needs
  • Read about Erik Erickson: Psychosocial Stages of Development
  • Read about Jean Piaget: Stages of Intellectual Development in Children and Teenagers
  • Watch Powerpoint
  • Post Week 1 Forum 1
  • Post Week 1 Forum 2
  • Post Week 2 Assignment
  • Read and comment on colleagues’ work.
  • Start Module 4 if and when it’s posted. not posted yet. Neener, neener, neener!

Go, go, go!

Edit: Holy smokes, was so behind I didn’t even realize that the module I’m behind on is curriculum design, which is what I do!3 years ago

dragonfly35Last fall

was a doozy, looks like this fall is the same! I am behind and desperately need to catch up in school. Also, now aiming to move a lot of my stuff in just 2.5 weeks. And… uh… other stuff. Like breathing.

School List
  • Finish late paper and turn it innot thrilled with this paper but I hope I did ok. I’m nearly two weeks behind now!
  • Do Module 3 reading
  • Do late Module 3 post
  • Post Module 3 assignment
  • Comment on others’ assignments

If I can do all that by Sunday night, I’ll be caught up. Big IF. 3 years ago

dragonfly35Saved

by technical problems and resulting shifting deadlines. Still behind but have a hope in hell now. ;) Still, I did write to my prof today and say Work got crazy, doing my best, but might take me a couple of weeks to get caught back up. Hope that’s OK. They’re usually pretty understanding given we all work and go to school at the same time. Sometimes the deadlines all just happen at once. True, I am going to be gone from both work and school for 4 days to attend the Ojai Yoga Crib but that’s exactly what I need to be productive right now anyway. :) 3 years ago

dragonfly35Stressed but surviving

At today’s conference we did an exercise on seeing the things you think you “have to” do as choices you make, and understanding the reasons for those choices. It was a transformative exercise for me. So this weekend, I choose to get as much of my homework done as possible while still taking time for me!

Main Goals for the weekend
  • Watch 2nd Powerpoint and do any late reading necessary to complete assignments
  • Do late Module 2 assignment!
  • Revise Learning Plan
  • Write Learning Plan Reflection
  • Write Module 2 paper Now extended until Wed. noon!
  • Look over and organize Module 3

Sounds like a lot, but I need to take it one step at a time. 3 years ago

dragonfly35God help me

get anywhere close to where I need to be this weekend. Praying for strength! 3 years ago

dragonfly35I need to

stop freaking out and stop procrastinating and just do the reading for Module 2 so that I can do the assignments and get caught up again. Sooooo much reading for this course and I feel like I’ll be behind all semester again, giving all the other things demanding my attention. However I also know that I am amazing and that if I have made it this far this well, I absolutely can do this with style and without working myself to death. So here goes. Already 3 p.m. and here’s what I absolutely need to do today:
  • watch the Powerpoint
  • read the Knight articleJeez that took me forever!
  • answer discussion question 1 and postShould not have been so hard :(
And I should
  • respond to some other postings
  • read the NAFSA, IIE and ACE standards
  • respond to discussion question 3
And a long shot
  • do all the other reading
    Yeah, right. 3 years ago

dragonfly35I was so stressed

about the Module 1 assignment but I received really positive feedback today and I know that some of my colleagues received critical feedback, so it means I really did a good job. Unfortunately, I’ve been slacking again this week – a much needed mental health break and a chance to focus on other things, but now I’m a bit behind again and I’ll need to get on top of things tomorrow and Monday (which is a holiday for me) so I don’t get too far behind. 3 years ago

dragonfly35This involves

six modules for my last content course, and three assignments for my Reflective Practice course. It seems doable… and yet it’s a ton of work. Plugging away right now. 3 years ago

dragonfly35Behind already!

And it’s not my fault this time. The semester officially begins on Monday, and we were supposed to receive information on readings over a week ago but just got them yesterday. I don’t think there’s any way I’ll be able to do the reading before the course starts. Also, the schedule is written in a typically unclear way. Well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually, and get all caught up. I was enjoying the break, but such is life! This is the last semester of actual classes in the degree. Looks like a hard one! 3 years ago
