I need something fun to do. Nothing is funner then They Might Be Giants.
How I did it: My roommate purchased tickets for the show for me from their website. We were at the House of Blues in Dallas and arrived almost 45 minutes before the show started. We got to stand right up against the stage!
I wish I could have stayed to meet the band and the opening act, Oppenheimer, but my roommate had work early in the morning.
But the Giants were great and it was such a fantastic experience to be around people (finally!) who love them and know their song just as well as I do! Everyone was throwing their hands up and yelling along at the perfect times.
Lessons & tips: If you're sensitive to loud noise, bring some ear plugs. I was right by the speakers and the opening act was an electronic band. It was so loud it hurt my whole body. So worth it.
Stick around while the roadies are packing up. They'll throw setlists to the waiting fans.

The Flood tour was my first concert. It was an outdoor show, and John talked about all of the bugs which were flying into his mouth. I have seen TMBG more times live than any other band. I love them :)
It’s been a few years since I’ve been, but they are touring my area this month, and I am going to try to drag my sister with me!
TMBG puts on a great show! I’ve seen them live seven times so far, and it’s always a good time. The best part is that if you’ve ever felt like the only person who even knew this band existed, suddenly you’re in a room of like-minded people!
Waterfall Nymph finding dustballs everywhere!
Always a great show though the crowds get younger and younger each time (oh wait, that’s me aging!). Prepare to dance!
Can’t wait until the chum is a few years older and I can take him to an all ages show!
TMBG played the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Jammin’ at the Zoo concert series. The venue sucked but TMBG rocks, and I’m gonna try to see them at a better venue at next opportunity. This is DONE!
Turns out they’re playing the one night I’m in DC for my interview… so I’m goingg to go.
scooterbird it's a jungle out there, kiddies...have a very fruitful day
Last time was at the Recher Theatre in Towson, with OK Go opening. They did a heck of a lot of their tunes that you wouldn’t expect them to do (imagine all of “Fingertips” live!) The encore featured OK Go dancing like maniacs in the middle of the audience to “Doctor Worm”!
New Year’s Eve, Brooklyn—definitely among my Top Ten Shows Ever.
I have seen them once… last January at the Borders in Albany and it was sooooooooo worth it. They performed quite a few of my favorites. Time to go again!
