apply for more scholarships

Ok…so I probably have to work on this goal a little more but I DID apply for a number of scholarships at my school here. I ended up getting one. Grant it it was only for a hundred dollars but still a scholarship is a scholarship! I will continue to work on this goal some more over the summer :)

In the end, I ended up with somewhere around $3,000ish dollars in outside scholarships, plus the $15,000 and nice aid package from Centre. So, this year, it knocked my loans down to $2,000.

And I fully intend to start applying for scholarships next year sometime in the fall. If I could knock it down to $3,000 in loans a year, that would be almost half what I expected to take for my education.

I got a $15,000 a year scholarship for Centre.

I finished the $10,000 Independence Bank application, and parts of the Bluegrass Indo-American one. I’m waiting on more to come into the guidance office.

I got two new scholarships from the guidance office today. Both of them came in yesterday. One is for $10,000 (2500 a year) and the other for $1000. Only one requires an essay, and I’ve already written a paper on the topic. I’m not sure if I want to rewrite the essay, however.

Last weekend I went down to Murray for their Presidential Scholarship Day. I find out how that went Monday or Tuesday, probably. As well, I applied for a $1,000 scholarship from WFIE and 5/3 Bank. Still waiting for more to come in.

Thats the only reason why I’ve kinded refrained from applying to most. Not only is it intimidating but I just don’t really have the time. That, however, is about to change though….or else I’ll be the college cliche.
