Aesthemeister Relaxing, Resting, and Recreating after a Grueling Semester

    Untitled 23 months ago

I’ve read them all, 22 or 23 volumes. I especially loved the work On the Interpretation of Dreams, as it really was his most profound work. It stands out as a masterpiece compared to all the rest of them. I would especially recommend his The Ego and the Id, and The Unconscious and Its Viscissitudes. Those titles may not be precise, but it has been a long time. Anyway, those three were his best, and if you only read three, read those.

Oh, and this guy down under my post who says “I don’t agree with his theories. At all” etc. People who say things like this, after reading TWO BOOKS OF HIS especially, are the sort of people who couldn’t even tell you what Freud’s theories are. As a matter of fact, they can’t usually tell you what his THEORY is, since he actually has a primary theory, don’t you know… Please, if you do anything in life, try to have a better brain than this sort of person who cannot comprehend something and can still “disagree with it”. In actuality, there is not a strong reason to “disagree” with a theory ANYWAY, the whole point of a theory is that it is intended as a POSSIBLE EXPLANATION of some phenomenon, and it requires the agreement of facts, not people. Nobody cares if you agree with their theory, nor should they. Opinions are the things that your agreement may or may not matter about, and that depends upon who cares also. AGAIN, a theory is not a subject for you to agree upon, but either to refute by evidence that contradicts it, or else to put up with side by side with any other theories, preferring one if you wish, but recognizing that you preference for it doesn’t make it true, and your dispreference for one doesn’t matter one wit either.

    Introductory Letters on Psycho-analysis
    The Interpretation of Dreams.

    One needs to read them.
They are also very very readable – the english translation) (my opinion).
I personally don’t agree with his theories. At all. But it was worth to read them.
