I have tried many diet types and have lost. AND have gained. This time I decided that this was it. I have been doing medifast with a combination of medical weight loss items from companies like dietdirect.com However, I have bought almost everything off of ebay.
To be successful with this plan I decided that every meal was one meal at a time and every one was like taking my medicine. I had to do it to be healthy.
I have a thyroid condition and my Dr said I was insulin resistant, not diabetic, but that I should try to lose some weight since I was over 300 lbs. I told him I had an idea of what I wanted to try. AND….I did and at my 6 month visit back to him I had lost 75 lbs.
I still have some go to. I do exercise. Since I have joint problems I swim, or exercise in the pool.
I pre decide every day that I will have what I need if I go out, even if it is just to shop. I have water or a diet soda with me or I go and get a diet drink. I know which restaurants I can eat at and what I can have. I like what I eat as my suppliments and I like what I eat for my lean and green meal. I like what I am doing.
Yes, I can get discouraged, but that is when I am not thinking of the progress I am making.
Sometimes things seem to go slow and sometimes I don’t feel too different, but then I see a picture of me before, or I think I can wear something I used to wear and when I put it on I remember when it was too tight and now it is too baggy.
As an encouragement to anyone out there. IT CAN BE DONE. I thank the Lord for the Dr’s who came up with this program and those like it. I thank the Lord that he gave me the ability to research what was out there and decide on this. AND I pray that I can continue.
Oh yes, when I returned to my Dr after the 6 months. My cholesterol had gone from in the low 200’s down to 135. How about that! Also, my dress size was 26 28 and I even had 4x and 5x clothes. Now the specialty shop I was shopping at has only one size that fits. 0x. I was even able to buy a bathing suit this summer that did not have a 2 as the first number ( ha ha) Even my birkenstocks were too lose. So I have had to put out some money for new clothes and shoes and especially undergarments, but that is a good thing to have to worry about.
For all of you out there. Keep up the good work… and I will do the same GOD BLESS

I joined SparkPeople, and it’s so many stories about people who have lost over 100 lbs. It’s crazy, you know. It’s like you can see it’s possible and it’s that much closer. I’m going to be on my way. I’m so happy I found this website, and it’s absolutely free!! I’m on my way, even started the 200 squat challenge. Yay me!

Not Sure 6 months ago

How much I weigh. I went to the clinic 2 months back and they told me some ridiculous number.

I refuse to believe such nonsense.

But I am definitely not in doubt.

I’ve gotten HUGE!

I’ve always been plus sized, big for my age, heavy set, big boned, more blessed than the rest perhaps…

But lately I’ve grown to become disgusted with my body. Time spent in front of the mirror has been cut down to an extreme low. I hate to look at myself, I’ve started putting less into my daily appearance and I’m almost sure my job has begun to notice.

The problem is this stinkin birth control…

Every since I’ve been taken any form of birth control, I’ve been retaining weight like a pregnant woman.

Well now I’m ready to beat the odds.

Fuck these pills!

I’m going to lose weight!!!!

First course of action: STOP EATING RED MEAT!

I Have to Do This 6 months ago

For my sanity.

Sometimes I feel as if I’m going crazy. You ought to see me at night time to get a feel of what it means to go through pretty much what I call food addiction. I’m not going to go into the gory details but those who empathize with me via first-hand experience understand what I mean. I’m obsessed with food, I dream of food, I fantasize about food, and I’m imprisoned by food.

For my finances.

I’m usually good with spending, except when it’s about food. I can spend as much as $20 at a go ordering a Chinese delivery meal. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you’re student barely scraping by in a spiraling economy, the $20 bills add up to about a lot. You know what – scratch that. I’m horrible with spending because of this food obsession.

For my health.

I’m out of breath, waddling through my days as if I’m only trying to get by. I’m 20-something years young but I’ve felt thirty years older since adolescence. I have headaches, dizziness from hard work, and fear. Fear of heart failure, Fear of diabetes, Fear of weight-related cancer, Fear of arthritis, fear that I only have 20-something years more.

For my esteem

I don’t want to go into much detail here, but I know how much prettier, glossier, and happier I will be once this is done.

Tools:

Callanetics videos (I hear its fabulous for skin toning); School gym open all summer for cardio. Health food – including bananas, spinach, fish, skinless chicken, mushrooms, etc.

Dream weight:

Seeing as I’m 278 pounds and 5’11 – 6’ by height (I’m female), it would be a stretch to hope for 150-160 pounds, but that’s my ideal. I would be VERY happy with a 170 though – as long as I’m toned, fit, and able to do a cartwheel without wanting to pass out.

We’ll see how I’ll handle my cravings tonight – no tomorrows for the procrastinator in me, ha! – and well, tomorrow too.

It's a Struggle, But . . . 18 months ago

I started at 250, and am currently around 140. I would like to get down to 115 by the end of summer, though.

No surgery, no starvation . . . Just an incredibly healthy diet and exercise. I have no desire to eat as I once did, either, and have kept every pound I’ve lost off for the past three years.

Good luck to everyone trying to reach this goal!

I have done it and am willing to help others 18 months ago

No drugs, no surgery. From 327 to 204. Body fat from 42% to 17%.

I want to lose over 100 pounds. 20 months ago

Mostly I want to lose the weight to feel better. I want to be in better health. Looking better is nice also, but this is about health for me. When I was younger it was about looking good, but now I want to be healthier so I can live a better and hopefully longer life.

It's Only Necessary 22 months ago

To Finally Let The Real Me Come Out Into The World. I want desperately to lose 110-120 lbs before I am 30 and to tone it and maintain a lower weight the rest of my life.
