    Many times in Hawaii (and elsewhere) while kayaking, swimming or giving a windsurf lesson, I’ve been zapped by these little creatures. The sting hurts for about 2 hours, then itches for a week. Occationally I get an irregular heart beat. The box jellies are the worst. They arrive 10 days after a full moon and can send you to the hospital, even put you in a coma, and sometimes kill.
