I will organize my life

If there is one thing I am on right now 2 years ago

...it’s a schedule. I don’t know if it covers all the bases, but it is certainly a schedule. I’m running on two day-planners at the moment. Two!

Just do it. 2 years ago

I go to bed at 10pm
I get up at 5:30am

The trick for me was to have an alarm for going to bed like I do for getting up. at 9:30pm my alarm goes off, and I start shutting down everything I’m doing and go to bed.

Just don’t allow anything to get started in the evening you’re not willing to walk away from.

Have to sleep first... 2 years ago

This goal is tied in with a few other goals too. To cure my sleeping problems and to stop feeling guilty, since both of these contribute to my un-schedule .

I did okay last night. Finally fell asleep at 4am, thanks to 2 tylenol PM’s I found in my purse. Woke up at 7, fell asleep again. Woke up at 9 am with my toddler. I should have stayed awake at 7. Now I feel like crap.

But honestly, this is progress.

Intensity, Efficiency 2 years ago

I’m already trying to do too much… but now that I’m going back to school, I’ve got to be more intense and more efficient (get more done in less time) than ever before. While still training and competing in JiuJitsu, I get to balance my relationships and now a degree in Kinesiology into the mix. My current weekday schedule looks like:
5:30a – Get Up, Pack food for the day
6:00a – Gym, Shower
8:00a – Work
6:00p – Boxing class
7:00p – JiuJitsu Class
8:00p – Kick it with the girl
9:00p – Work on stuff (certs, art, etc.)
10:00p – Sleep
Now I get to pack School in there somewhere, at least 2 classes. I’m thinking on cutting back on certs, art, etc.. and putting an internet class in that slot, and then cutting back on Boxing\JiuJitsu to 2-3x per week while Packing a night class in there.

Yeah. About this... 2 years ago

...NEEDS TO BE DONE. Good luck everyone out there who shares this goal. I hope we can be a source of inspiration to each other. I am really all over the place right now and feel that if I develop a daily schedule things will be better and easier to control.

Not exactly a schedule, but... 3 years ago

I am getting up at nine most days. Ten at the latest if I stay up into the wee hours. So that’s an improvement of a coupla hours. And I am getting shit done every day in preparation for the move. But schedule? Not so much.

Giving it a shot 3 years ago

This week I made an effort to get up at 9:30 a.m. and to go to bed by 2:00 a.m. Kinda hard because I’m a swing-shifter, so I’m used to staying up late and sleeping in late, but I want more day-time hours to be productive.
The first day I got up, went for a walk, came home, ate a light breakfast, and worked on projects, pretty well on task. The next day I made it up by 10, too cold for a walk (sub-zero), but still managed to work on projects. Same deal on Wed. Then today and yesterday were my days off, so I let myself sleep in (still up before eleven both days) and dick around on the computer a lot more, but still ran errands and got a few things done around the house. Not bad, needs improvement. I’m hoping if I can keep to a (fairly loose) schedule for a few weeks, it will be easier to quit smoking and fill up the day with other activities. On with it then.

This is probably something I should really focus on if I want to be successful with my latest quit. Otherwise I will just lay around all day getting depressed or some shit. Bleah.

Loser? 4 years ago

I have made no progress on this goal. I am currently waking up between ten and ten-thirty and then dicking around on the laptop until I go to work at three. Then I come home, dick around on the computer some more, and go to bed with a book. I am not going to be too hard on myself though because I’m going sans cigarettes this week. Still, the schedule would probably help, rather than hinder, my progress in dealing with this addiction.
