complex1 feeling an upslope, the first in a long while
yay!!!! we’ve got a place for the 1st of may, with a backyard, more counter space, and a nice big bathroom!
How I did it: My husband had been looking at places, but I kept finding things I really didn't like about them. So one morning, he says to me, since I have more stipulations about where we live than he does, how about I find a place. Okay I says, and I start by looking on kijiji that afternoon. There was nothing so I tried the Pennysaver, and I found a great place for less than most of the others we'd seen. I made an appointment to see it later that afternoon, and I went over by myself. The man showed me the place and I thought it was pretty decent, so I told him so, and asked if he wanted cash. He said he'd have his son call me, as his son does all the paper work. After the weekend I met with his son at the house with first and last in cash, we signed the papers and he gave me the keys. he didn't even ask for the one reference he wanted until after we'd signed everything!
Lessons & tips: offer cash. Be really really friendly. if you are a

Looks like we might get to rent the house of some relatives in June or July. Sounds REALLY awesome, and is probably to good to be true. We shall see.

yeah, I really am not too sure this is an actual goal of mine at this point, although I think it may someday happen, but it’s not something I’m going out of my way for anymore, I guess.

We’re going to look at another place tomorrow, and it could be the one. We’re pretty desperate. Who knows, it might not even be a complete shit hole!

we have almost found a home, and almost have a mortgage. SO exciting! We even almost have enough money!

yeah, basically I’m back to where I was 2 months ago, and we’re NOT BLOODY LIKELY to be getting my parents house. They want us to get a mortgage so that they don’t have to- a $350,000+ mortgage. So, fuck them. Like, shit. YOU have the $$$$$$$$ not us. Get a fucking life. So, anyway, after being pissed, I’m happy, because I didn’t want to live where everybody knows my name, and my past, and where I’d have to be pissed that I couldn’t afford to do all the fancy fixing up I would have wanted, and things like that. It would have been nice for the kids though, but we’ll find something else, something better, something cheaper… :)

since until I own my own home/ build my own home, I’m not going to be able to do a lot of the things I would like to do, this is where I’ll keep the list of things I’d like to do after I have my house!
1: shear, dye, and spin my own wool
2: see the sun rise everyday
3: sew my own clothes
