Good lord, NME have actually recommended a band that deserve the praise and credit.
They create a stunning dream-like disorientation with the measured chaos of pop music. Check out Austere and The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade.
You can listen here

I recently discovered Lowline while listening to some local Manchester bands.
There are flashes of inspiration from The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine, but they strike a rare balance between razor sharp rock and roll, and epic shoegaze. Lowline’s intense guitar sound is underpinned by tribal house tinged drums and fuzzed up bass lines and frantic drumming reminiscent of Joy Division, as all combine to make something with energy, atmosphere and spirit.

Not with the finding bands, i have loads of new ones, but with the updating:
First off:
Maths
Listen Here
Wonderful uk Screamo band formed in late 2006 in Norfolk, UK.
You know when you hear a band and think, yep they have it… well that was my first thought as i listened to this band. Maths have a defined sound, one that has been missing from the UK for quite some time with main influences being stated as: Orchid, Ampere, Circle Takes the Square, Modern Life is War and Funeral Diner.

Do you like strong rhythmic compositions with dissonant guitar and bass? Do you like unique melodies and danceable beats that cut through you? Do you like post-punk?
Well if you answered yes to the above then you will probably like Q and Not U
Formed in 1998, on the reputable Washington, D.C based Dischord Records; this endearing three-piece outfit were widely known as one of the most beloved bands to create danceable post-punk. The band had a very unique quality of producing oblique yet upbeat and endearing music which would become a trademark of the band’s future work, setting them apart from their aurally less forgiving D.C. hardcore peers and bringing them more into line with the budding dance-punk scene
The band disbanded in September 2005 after completing their touring commitments and a short farewell stand in Washington, D.C

Prototypes are a French band hailing from Paris. Created in 2003, the band successfully make a joyful hybrid of electro-pop, 60s rhythms, folk guitars, a hint of punk which is then topped off with sexy French vocals from Isabelle Le Doussal

Neon Blonde
With Electo sounds, amazing breakdowns & indie guitar riffs “Neon Blonde” manage to work their way into not only your playlist but also your head.. i find myself humming songs during the day even when ive not listened to them for a while. This band make an exelent side project for Johnny Whitney and Mark Gajadhar from The Blood Brothers. They expand upon The Blood Brothers sound while still keeping their hardcore roots. The songs have plenty of breakdowns and other traditional “Blood Brothers” sounds.
Bear Vs Shark
Building on the Fugazi meets Motown rhythms and grooves associated with with this band it would be unfair to call them just indie.. or just alternative. This band have a knack of making songs which make you bop your head and tap your feet before you even realise what you are doing. Each track oozes originality, intense passion and talent. Unfortunately by the end of 2005, only months after the release of their second record ‘Terrorhawk’, the band broke up. Despite this the band are more than worth listening to. An esential for anyone.
