    Presentation  — 1 year ago

    Worth doing!

I Did my presentation this morning and it went great! My mentor thought that I did an awsome job with the presentation. But unfortunatly he got a phone call and wasnt able to really stick around long enough to tell me what he thought…... About me siting him as my mentor.
On of the evaluators asked me who the deputy was that inspired me so much ( cuz I hadnt actually said his name) and I simply said Rivera and motioned right to him. Of course thats when the two battle creek cops started kind of laughing…... hehehehehehe.

My mentor....  — 1 year ago

    Worth doing!

My mentor actually doesnt even know that he is my mentor yet. He has really taught me a lot about being and becoming a police officer over these past two years and on thursday for my Tech. class I have to give a huge presentation basically outlining how being in my program at tech. center has changed me and a few of the things that we have done.
For the presentation our teacher is having several people evaluate us (these are individual presentations) But I have choosen to also ask my mentor to come and watch the presentation and evaluate me as well. In my presentation I plan on not naming names, but basically saying who my mentor (my main inspiration for being a deputy) is.
Now I am really just hoping that I dont fumble my words or that I dont start ballin’ in front of the panel and have to walk out or something…. that would suck. It should be pretty obvious to “tell” who it is without naming names, cuz he is the only liaison deputy in the county…. so, yeah thats kind of a dead give away.

Remembered me after 30 years. Sounds like he is still a great teacher and a great person.

Many, many cheers to all you great teachers out there! You really do make a difference in people’s lives and in the world!

I just did this!  — 1 year ago

    Worth doing!

I didn’t even realize there was an entry on this topic, but was thinking about how many of my past teachers had made a positive impact on my life. I just looked up the e-mail of my second grade teacher (easy, he is still at my elementary school!) and sent him a note to thank him.

Thanks Mr. Uno. You were a great influence. Wonderful to see you are still teaching 30 years later! Can’t imagine how many kids have been through your class, and owe you the same word of thanks.
